Meet Dr.(Nick) Wisniewski
I was born and raised in Southeastern Connecticut; my parents still live in the Bozrah home where I grew up. I have an older sister and a younger brother, so yes, that makes me the middle child.
I married my wife, Andrea, after meeting at UCONN, in 2005. We have two beautiful and unique children Michael (7) and Sarah (5). We also share our home with our dog, Colby who keeps watch over us all.
I’m a graduate of Saint Bernard High School, UCONN and the New England College of Optometry so I have spent most of my life in New England. There are many things I love about New England. I love being outside whether I’m running or biking, playing with my kids, doing yard work or cutting and splitting firewood to heat my house. My wife loves nothing more than having a fire in the fireplace and watching a movie, though it is a challenge to find the time. We like to garden and one of my children’s favorite things to do is to cut the lawn with me.
Although I have dedicated much of the last year of my life to starting this new business, I also decided about a year ago to try to accomplish another life goal at the same time. About 8 years ago the combination of weight, stress and other life in general resulted in me being diagnosed with high blood pressure. After having children I realized life had to change, having been casually involved with small local triathlons I decided that getting more involved would be a great way to motivate me trying to get and stay in better shape. I committed about a year ago to attempting my first full distance triathlon, to read more about that experience check out my blog post.
